Wow - wish I hadn't woken up to read this news. This wasn't something I had thought would actually happen, despite the forces working toward it. Sad day, and not good news to have Pakistan's best chance for a legitimate democracy slain. It's not a sunny prospect to have a currently-nuclear-armed Pakistan (unlike Iran), led by a corrupt Musharraf who is likely harboring key Al-Qaeda players, and now to have his key resistance silenced.
The elections just became a little less meaningful due to this news that I guess everyone should have seen coming, and acted to prevent.
